Evening Hymn (#49 ZH)

Now another day is ended, 

And the sun did disappear,

God's true love, to us extended,

Has this day been ever near.

He this day with grace has blest us,

Praise be to His holy name,

Lifted burdens that oppressed us,

And in love unto us came.

Therefore, thank we Thee dear Father,

That Thou art with us each day,

For Thy good and blessed counsel,

And Thy help upon our way.

May Thy word in heart and spirit,

Give us joy and comfort sweet,

May the torch of heav'nly wisdom,

Be a light unto our feet.

Thou art still our shield and Saviour,

Our good sentinel at night,

In our prayers we seek Thy favor,

Trusting only in Thy might.

Unto Thee we draw in chorus,

Praying that we may be blest,

Guard us on our pilgrim journey,

Grant us joy and peace and rest.

Remembering our dear sister who traveled beyond the sunset to be with Jesus this past week. Praise God for the victory.
